Carry originals and multiple photocopies of your documents to be on the safer side.
If you are driving/riding during the entire trip, you must carry license, PUC, RC book, and Insurance.
- Medicines –
There are many medical camps run by Indian army at various locations. Tourists usually have trouble breathing.
Carry medicines for altitude sickness, motion sickness and stomach pain, along with the medications you already take (if any). Always consult your local doctors before you take those medicines.
At any point if you feel dizzy, let your friends or person near you know about the same. Don’t exert your self, take enough rest.
Remember you are there to relax and enjoy and not to rush things, so stay calm.
- Charger, memory card, power bank –
Going on a dream vacation, you’ve got to capture every moment to cherish it later. So, need to carry spare memory cards, few power banks, and charger(s).

- Traffic in Leh Ladakh –
As it is located in a far-fetched area, there might be a few places where you might get stuck in traffic owing to a single lane road, a wrong turn by a HLV (Heavy Load Vehicle), a landslide or an accident. These traffic jams could be for hours, so be prepared for it.
- Food and clothing –
The climate in Leh cannot be predicted, hence it is recommended to carry along certain food materials like – Glucose, Instant maggi, energy bars and dry fruits at all times. If you are stuck, these would be useful for survival. Before starting the journey each day, make sure your water bottles are full.
Always wear clothes in layers, so as you can add/remove layers as per the weather conditions.
